Themed Conference Sessions (Sat-Sun, Mar 7-8th, 2009)

The precise themes for the sessions will be determined based on the accepted papers, but our first approximation is as follows. We stress that submitted papers need not fit into these specific categories, but may cover any topic within the AI field: we are not looking to restrict paper submissions only to a certain set of themes, but rather to group paper submissions into meaningful categories so as to best foster discussions.

  • Evaluation of AGI Systems
Chair: John Laird, University of Michigan

  • Logic Based AI
Chair: Selmer Bringsjord, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

  • Automated Program Learning
    Chair: Moshe Looks, Google Research

  • AI in Virtual Worlds and Games
Chair: Sibley Verbeck, Electric Sheep Company

  • AGI and Neuroscience
    Chair: Randal Koene, Boston University

  • Artificial Brains
Chair: Hugo de Garis, Xiamen University

Demo Track (Sun, March 8th, 2009)

Individuals who wish to present their work in the demo track should contact Sam S. Adams (email: ssadams -at- us.ibm.com)

Post-conference Workshops (Monday, March 9th, 2009)

  • The Future of AGI
    Chair: Josh Hall

  • AGI and Serious Games
    Co-chair: David Gobel, DHS
    Co-chair: Ben Goertzel, Novamente LLC

Papers submitted for the post-conference workshops should be submitted and formatted similarly to papers submitted for the main conference, but will be separately refereed.

Paper Submissions

FORMAT

AGI-09 will accept two types of submissions: full-length papers (6 pages) and short position statements (2 pages). Submissions should generally, but not strictly, follow AAAI guidelines using one of the following templates (appreciation goes to AAAI for allowing us to use their docs as a guide):

SUBMIT

Submissions should be submitted electronically here (you may need to first create an EasyChair account).

Whether an accepted paper (of either length) will be presented as a talk or as a poster will be determined by the Program Committee, in part based on paper quality as assessed by the anonymous reviewers, and in part according to the extent the paper addresses a topic of core interest to the AGI community.

The acceptance of a paper is based on the assumption that one of the authors will attend the conference to present the paper. Any questions can be directed to one of the conference chairs.
